Painting Bolt and Lucky Alt Sculpts

The blog has taken a back seat since the end of the Kickstarter campaign. The holidays were busy and we had a lot of logistics to figure out as we finalized our manufacturing plan and got started producing OP. Exciting times! Another exciting development is that we got our first prototypes of the alt sculpt Bolt and Lucky miniatures. I decided to celebrate the opening of our pledge manager by painting up our prototypes.

In the meantime I’ve been keeping my painting skills sharp on some Infinity models which were collecting dust for a few years. Here are a few off-topic shots from the last couple of months.

Infinity makes really top quality metal minis, always fun to paint!

But it’s even more fun to paint our own models! Here are some progress shots of alt Bolt and Lucky.

Since her concept art has long sleeves I decided to get creative and add a couple tattoos. The shoulder visible from the front is meant to look like a pair of dog tags, the other shoulder has a red rose with it’s stem wrapped around her bicep. I have some work to do to tidy them up but they add some fun character.

These sculpts are just so powerful and cool, I hope to do them justice. You can purchase these through our pledge manager. What do you think of the sculpts? How am I doing on the painting?
